A Community Service Initiative: Bringing safe, reliable, local and accessible transportation to Niverville for community wide use by seniors and disadvantaged people will help to greatly reduce isolation, and improve quality of life for these individuals, many of whom are long term residents and community contributors. Access to safe and reliable local transportation will give isolated and less fortunate Niverville residents an opportunity to become and feel a part of their community again.
A community van could provide safer and more accessible transportation to local shops, medical appointments, church services, and family events. It would also enable participation in tours of Christmas lights; the opportunity to attend school concerts; Niverville Nighthawks games; ice cream runs; group lunches; picnics in the park and trips to events in Winnipeg or other close communities. All activities that most of us take for granted.
Current users of a mobile transit service are reliant on the availability of out-of-town vehicles and drivers at a considerable cost.
Together we can bring our seniors and disadvantaged residents back into their community again.
